Travel to the beautiful medieval town of St Andrews, the birthplace and home of golf. The game was developed over 600 years ago and the town now boasts an amazing 11 courses, with the Old Course being arguably the most famous in the world. St Andrews’ long golfing history makes the town the largest public golf complex in Europe and the number 1 destination for keen golfers from around the globe.
In addition to golf, St Andrews is also home to the oldest University in Scotland, the meeting place of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge. The town is also famous for the opening scene in the film Chariots of Fire, West Sands offers nearly two miles of uninterrupted beach which runs parallel to the Jubilee Course. It is the perfect place for a relaxing stroll to admire and take in the coastal scenery.
